Cribbage Club Free

cribbageclubfree_1Cribbage is one of our favourite card games (it’s one we always play in the caravan) and having an app version to be able to play solo is a must.

I’ve tried a few but this one is the best so far in my opinion. It also has a good tutorial mode so that you could give the app to a younger relative to learn how to play and then play the game with real cards (remember them?). Also, the manual scoring option is good because, as all cribbage players know, scoring – and ensuring you get the best out of every hand –  is the most important part of the game. Automatic scoring teaches you nothing about this part does it?

There’s still a place for playing card, board and other games using the ‘real thing’ in my opinion as it’s a totally different experience to tapping on a small screen isn’t it? Game apps have their place of course and introducing younger people to the fun you can have together with a technology they understand and use, “like, all the time” (as they would say these days, I’m showing my age now), first can be a great way to bring them closer to older family members by playing games together.

Like many games with scoring elements like the cribbage score board, the game is best played on a tablet but it can be used on a phone of course too.

The free version has ads, but I haven’t found them intrusive at all so far on the tablet, they may be more so on phones. The developer also has a version without ads for around a dollar so try the free one first then upgrade if you prefer not to see any.

From the app description:
